At Sweeet Bippy, leather tells a story. It shows where you’ve been, how you use your bag, and how time has shaped it. This is a little peek into why leather matters so much to me, how I choose it, and what makes it worth loving for years to come.

Why Leather?

Leather is honest. It’s strong, flexible, and meant to be used. Unlike trend-driven materials, leather doesn’t pretend to stay perfect—it improves with wear. Scuffs soften, color deepens, and the bag becomes uniquely yours.

I believe the best bags are the ones you don’t have to think about. Leather lets me create pieces that are dependable, comfortable, and built to handle everyday life without fuss.

Choosing the Right Leather

Not all leather is created equal. I’m extremely picky about what I work with.

Each hide is chosen for:
    •    Durability – strong enough for daily use
    •    Hand feel – supple but substantial
    •    Character – natural grain, texture, and variation
    •    Aging potential – leather that develops a rich patina over time

Many of my pieces use premium leathers, including shrunken bison, known for its toughness and beautifully pebbled texture. These are leathers meant to work hard and still look good doing it.

Patina is the natural aging process of leather. It’s the softening, darkening, and subtle shine that develops with use. No two bags patina the same way—and that’s the magic.
